    Welcome

Tings is a casual lounge hotel, NOT a five star hotel. We focus on the individual traveler’s needs for comfort and ambiance. Don’t expect TV, A/C or a fridge

When we started Tings we didn’t think about Stars

Our guests always ask us why we only only have 1 star?
Well – first we really don’t care about stars. Second – we provide the services travellers like ourselves need. And these services don’t count in the point systems that generate stars.

TINGS KATHMANDU: Tings Kathmandu

Tings in Lazimpat is closed!

Tings in Lazimpat is closed!

We ‘managed earthquakes, Maoist strikes and Electricity Cuts. And we might be able live with the pollution, traffic and hopeless Tourist Infrastructure. But the crazy real-estate prices and the current Covid_19 close down force us to close our hotel. It has been a fantastic journey.

Our best elephant experience is featured in Forbes!

Our best elephant experience is featured in Forbes!

It’s hard to explain – but our stay at Tharu Lodge is my best experience with Elephants (and other wildlife) EVER. Kathrine Parker-Magyar has visited the Camp for Forbes. The result is pretty good – hopefully good enough to convince the readers to go and experience these fantastic animals themselves. They deserve it 🙂

A Celebration – New Works by Chirag Bangdel

A Celebration – New Works by Chirag Bangdel

A Celebration – Works by Chirag Bangdel

10 years ago, we arrived in Kathmandu.

10 years ago, we got our first 3 Nepalese friends – one of them Chirag Bangdel.

10 years ago, we bought our first Nepalese Art Work – a piece by Chirag Bangdel.

10 years later we are still friends and are surrounded by his works in Kathmandu and Lisbon.

10 years later we open our first solo exhibition with works by Chirag Bangdel.

As all the previous events – music, drinks, snacks and people.

… it’s all about friendship!
